Rules
This competition is AHA-sanctioned and open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.
All mailed entries must be received at the mailing location by the entry deadline – please allow for shipping time.
All entries will be picked up from the drop-off locations on the day of the entry deadline.
All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).
The competition organizers are not responsible for miscategorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.
The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries.
Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.
Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once. For example, participants may enter a Belgian Pale (16B) and Belgian Saison (16C) but may not enter different beers under the same subcategory.
The competition committee reserves the right to combine categories based on the number of entries. All possible efforts will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners.
Bottles will not be returned to entrants.
BJCP 2021 Judging Styles
The competition will follow the 2021 revision of the BJCP Guidelines. A full list and description of applicable styles may be found here (downloadable PDF). All judging will be conducted against these style parameters.
Number of Bottles Required Per Entry: 2

Other Volunteer Info
Some entries will be judged before the day of the competition to ensure we can judge all entries in a timely manner. If you are in the Chattanooga, sign up to join us (see info above)! Final Judging and Best of Show will take place at Knights of Columbus Hall on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Coffee and bagels will be available for breakfast and a full lunch will be provided to judges and stewards.
At the conclusion of the judging, we will have our raffle and awards ceremony. These events are open to the public.
If you need help with accommodations, please let us know.
Best of Show
Best of Show winners will receive redeemable prizes selected from sponsor-donated items. Competition organizers will allocate these prizes to all BOS places at the time of the event.
Awards
The awards ceremony will take place once judging is completed on October 18, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Every attempt will be made to start on time, but sometimes judging can run a bit long.
Places will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category/table, remembering that some categories may be combined due to a lower number of entries.
The 1st place entry in each category will advance to the Best of Show (BOS) round with a single, overall Best of Show beer selected. There will separately be a BOS round for the combination of Cider and Mead, with a single, overall Best of Show cider/mead selected.
Additional prizes may be awarded to those winners present at the awards ceremony at the discretion of the competition organizers.
Results will be emailed to each competitor using their registered email in the ReggieBeer system, and archived on the ReggieBeer system following the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
Digital scoresheets will also be emailed to the email on file on the ReggieBeer system, and archived in your ReggieBeer account.
We encourage you to attend our awards ceremony to receive your medals in person. If you cannot attend, your medals will be mailed to your address on file in the ReggieBeer system. Please ensure your ReggieBeer info is up to date.
